Barnabus helps adults who are homeless – whether you’re living on the streets, in temporary accommodation or at risk of homelessness. If you have a family with dependents under the age of 18 or are under 18 yourself, we recommend that you contact your local authority immediately.

A warm welcome at the Beacon Support Centre

At the Beacon Support Centre on Bloom Street, we offer regular morning sessions. Here, you can get food, showers and clothing, and there's also a nurse available two mornings a week.

Morning drop-in sessions: Monday to Friday, 9am – 12pm

Confidential one-to-one support at our Support Office

Our support workers are always happy to help. They’ll sit, listen, and offer confidential support on a wide range of issues - from finding volunteering and paid employment, to emergency accommodation referrals and locating detox programmes.

Our Support Office is open Monday to Friday 10am – 1pm at 61 Bloom Street, M1 3LY. No appointment is needed.

Out of hours

If you need help outside of our opening hours or cannot reach our drop in you can call the Manchester City Council Rough Sleeper Team on 0161 234 5339. Or alternatively the Councils out of hours service, 0161 234 5001.

Please visit for more details about which services are open when we are closed.

See the Council’s homeless assessment team

We always recommend that you see either your local authority council or the Manchester City Council homeless assessment team, in the Town Hall annexe. Here, you’ll sit down with an assessment worker who will determine whether the council can help you immediately.
