Salford Dragon Boat Race Postponed until 2021 We’re proud to announce that Barnabus are the Salford Dragon Boat Festival chosen Charity for 2020! Another reason why we can’t wait to take to the water again this year. We really hope you will join in the fun and raise vital life changing funds to help people experiencing homelessness. Last year we had an absolutely amazing day supporting our charity teams and taking part in the event. We entered our own novice team of Barnabus staff and volunteers and during the day we even got to race our supporting teams; Boss Models (who took 2nd Place overall) and BNI Beyond (who took 3rd place overall).Dragon Boat Teams consist of rowers and one drummer, you can enter a minimum of 13, 15 or 17 people to take part as your team (one of these is the drummer). A maximum of 20 people can enter overall this includes reserves. You can enter multiple teams and teams can also compete and race each other in head to head. Racing is over the whole length of Ontario Dock, which is around 180 meters and each team will have a minimum three timed races where their single fastest time will count for Grand Final qualification. Choose to support Barnabus by raising sponsorship and you can enter at a discounted rate as a ‘Charity Team’ Charity Teams (Fund Raising) Route £500.00 is the discounted entry cost of a boat per team - Registration before Thursday, 30 April can be done with a £100 deposit, balance to follow. Barnabus Charity Team Captains are required to set up an online 'Giving' page for their team and each team member is challenged to raise at least £75 for their charity.
