We had another allotment session on 30th August with support from corporate volunteers. After the usual brew time where we discuss the afternoon plans Charlie and Angeliki from Chameleon, a medical communication company, first of all helped to harvest runner beans.

They then were challenged to do some hard landscaping - something way outside their experience. John Eaden showed them what was required to lay some concrete paving slabs to extend the paving around the raised beds. Thus involved barrowing sand and hardcore, shovelling the materials onto the site and then levelling the sand to allow the slabs to be laid. Charlie and Angi were very quick learners and willing to put in a shift. By the end of the session we had five slabs down, some achievement.
