The allotment

Photo of the Barnabus allotmentGardening is well-known to be a relaxing activity accessible to all ages and abilities. Whilst unable to provide such an activity at the Beacon itself a partnership with the Church of the Nazarene in Longsight has brought about the opportunity to use a plot of land a short distance from the city centre. Currently under development, the project is set to start in Autumn 2008. It is hoped that the men and women who engage with the project will benefit from the structure and relaxation such an activity can bring as well as growing in their personal confidence and becoming a part of the community in the local area.

The shop

The latest initiative undertaken by Barnabus is a boutique clothing shop and cafe the aim of which is to generate a source of regular income for the charity as a whole. Selling selected items from donations received, the shop will stock a range of clothing targeting both the local student population and families resident in the South Manchester area where the shop is based. There are opportunities to volunteer to assist us at the shop as there are across all areas of the ministry.

Collecting boxes

Photo of some of our collecting boxesTo enhance our fundraising strategy we now have a number of official Barnabus collecting boxes. We hope these will enable supporters of our work to seek donations from neighbours, family and friends, and to encourage those who wish to support us financially, but are unable to commit to regular giving, to give as and when they can.

If you are interested in supporting us in the manner please do not hesitate to get in touch.
